The DVD recounts the misfortune of the gods and their tragic battle against demons, is finally released and available!

The story is told in a very didactic and poetic manner. It is a very good medium to introduce the viewer to the mythology of Northern countries. You will get to know not only the Norse gods Odin, Thor, Frey and the most intriguing of them all, Loki, but also the evil forces of the serpent of Midgard and the wolf Fenrir. They will challenge the gods in a battle of cosmic dimensions. This will lead to tremendous chaos and an apocalyptic end.
I made the pictures, Lars Huldén wrote in Swedish the text superbly narrated by Sixten Lundberg. The editing is done by Sirpa Papinaho. Thanks to these particularly talented people, we made a great film.

Some excerpts from the movie ”ragnarök” in low resolution

In this short extract, the beast Fenrir is running with its mouth wide open, swallowing everything that comes in its way.
The upper part of its mouth reaches high up into the sky, while the bottom part touches the ground.
Odin takes a firm grip on Gugnir. Right behind Odin come his two wolves Geiri and Freki.
Time has come for Odin to face his destiny. The beast runs towards Odin. Odin is swallowed by the monstrous beast.

The author

Lars Huldén was a Swedish-speaking Finnish writer, scholar and translator. He was a professor at Helsinki university. In 1986 Huldén received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Humanities at Uppsala University, Sweden. He has researched Carl Michael Bellman, Johan Ludvig Runeberg, Swedish dialects and toponomy. Lars Huldén and his son Mats Huldén translated Kalevala into Swedish in 1999. Huldén died on 11 October 2016.
